Glenburnie has its beginnings in the 1930s, but its inspiration goes much farther back in time. The original owners of the land named Glenburnie for their home in Scotland. Despite the tie to Scotland, Glenburnie is a neighborhood that reflects the building design of Colonial Virginia.
Nestled between Grove and Patterson, Glenburnie is a convenient location for people wanting a neighborhood feel in the metro area. It’s older homes offer homeowners unique designs with quality building. It’s a West End dream come true. Like many older homes, beauty is unparalleled. And, sometimes, so are the peculiarities of prior generations when it comes to home. Kitchens and baths in older homes, especially, can be quite different from the needs of a 21st-century family.
While no one wants to destroy the historic feel of a house, there are always a few things that could stand updating. Like most of us, there are probably some things you’d like to change. Leo Lantz, in Glen Allen, has been updating historic homes throughout Richmond for over 20 years. We offer a variety of remodeling services from small to large, including:
Our kitchens are essential rooms in our homes. It’s a room where family and friends tend to gather, and it’s often the hub of our home. Chances are you can put together a list of things you’d like to change in your kitchen. Maybe you want new cabinets and counters, an island, or you want to knock down some walls and start over. Whatever your plans are, Leo Lantz has the experience to create your dream kitchen in Glenburnie.

Bathrooms are popular choices for home remodeling. Many of us are living with the original bathroom in our homes. There may be new paint on the walls and fresh linens, but the bathroom’s footprint is the same. And that footprint is also probably outdated.

We love Barrington!
Barrington is a set of three smaller neighborhoods: Barrington, Barrington Valley, and Barrington West. All three boast beautiful custom homes set on large lots. And with great schools nearby, it’s easy to see what Barrington is a sought after address.
Something You Might Not Know
According to local legend, Short Pump, where Barrington is located, was named after a public water pump that had a short handle. This “short pump” was located behind a tavern owned by Robert Saunders and was built in 1815. You can read more about this on the Virginia Pilot.
